Placer County (PC) – Placer County contains the second half of the trail from the east end of Rubicon Springs to Lake Tahoe. Placer County claimed the Rubicon Trail as a county road in the fall of 2006. The trail is formally recognized as the McKinney Rubicon Springs Road. The trail is managed by the Public Works Department within Placer County.
