  Accomplishments

RTF Makes a Difference!

Once again, with the committment of our members
and help from sponsors and fellow organizations,
2011 was a memorable year. We gratefully salute
all who helped us accomplish so much.

Coordinated Kiosk duties and maintained both
Loon Lake and Wentworth Kiosks

Worked with Friends of the Rubicon and El Dorado
County to help the El Dorado County choose trail
alignments and variants

Worked closely with Placer County to implement
$50,000 grant for repairs to the Tahoe side

Provided Friends of the Rubicon work weekend meals and supplies: June 26th, July 17th, August 21st,
Sept 25th, October 23rd

Continued to work on management plan for RTF Rubicon property

Planned with El Dorado County and El Dorado NF for a kiosk at Wentworth Campground

Worked with State Parks to assist Law Enforcement Officers in 4WD training

 

Financially supported Mid Trail Staff who conducted
on the trail land use & legal education using
State Parks grant funding as well as RTF funds

Installed signage along the trail using State Parks
grant funding in partnership with an Eagle Scout
service project.

Maintained bathrooms along the trail in partnership
with El Dorado County

Rubicon Oversight Committee: Provided continuous
leadership and participation

Attended over 18 local events educating the public
about the Rubicon Trail (Calrocs, FLB fundraiser, Cal4, Jeepers Jamboree, Jeep Jamboree, etc)

Foundation

Assisted with Tahoe National Forest Route Designation efforts to keep the Lost Trail and the Barker OHV
Trail open

Released Stream Survey of Ellis Creek in response to the Notice of Intent issued by the Forest Service to
issue an easement to El Dorado County. This survey quantified that the Rubicon Trail is not impacting
Ellis Creek adversely

Made substantive comments to the Easement Notice of Intent compiled by RTF’s Political Action Committee

Made substantive comments to Easement Draft Environmental Impact Statement issued by the Forest Service

Attended “coordination” meetings and encouraged El Dorado County to request coordination with the Eldorado
National Forest

Instead of installed signs can we say we helped create an Eagle Scout by installing signs??

Thanks to the following funds raised, we were able to do the great work above to enhance the future health
of the Rubicon Trail:

Black Tie & Boots raised $18,800

Cantina 2011 raised $38,700 dollars

Marlin Crawler Round-up raised over $10, 000 dollars
